Methotrexate Side Effects may be common or rare. The rare side effects are not observed oftenly but when they occur they are usually so fatal. The common side effects are observed frequently and they may be severe or less severe depending on the amounts of methotrexate intake in the body. Examples of the common side effects of methotrexate include;

  • Massive hair loss can be experienced by the individual
  • Some skin infections which include rashes and redness. This infection comes in due to high dosage of the medication.
  • The eyes become infected and thus seeing comes along with problems.
  • The skin becomes dark on the specific places where treatment through radiation had been done.
  • It can also cause infertility meaning that one may not be able to conceive a child after long time usage of methotrexate.
  • The kidney may be affected due to high usage of the methotrexate medication and thus this may cause kidney failure.
